Fesorb rapidly removes phosphate, arsenic and silicate from marine and fresh water aquariums.
It is highly porous with a large surface area and will not release phosphate or silicate back into the water. For best results place in a high flow area of the aquarium, for example in a sump, media reactor or canister filter. If not contained in a reactor place in a media bag that will fully contain the granules. DO NOT allow the Fesorb to freely enter the aquarium as it may stain surfaces.
To obtain a target PO4 of 0.02mg/L (ppm):
Use 40ml/100 litres of water in marine aquariums, or double that amount for fresh water.
ReefX® Fesorb will rapidly remove phosphate so it is important not to overdose. Leave it in place for 4 days before testing levels. If they have not reduced to near 0.02 mg/L then the Fesorb has removed the maximum amount from the aquarium and should be changed, otherwise leave it in place until the levels start to rise and then change. Avoid reducing levels by more than 0.5mg/L per day.
This product MUST be rinsed before use. Either run the reactor output to waste until it runs clear, or rinse the media bag under a tap until the water runs clear. It is recommended to run reactor output into a filtration sock or roll to capture any fines that may wash through.
